If you're in a debate over what would be considered to be the best American car of all time, you'd be hard pressed to argue against the classically American Corvette Stingray. Although you might get some resistance from those in the Mustang corner, you'd have to concede that the Corvette has been impressing the automotive world for more than 50 years, and each year, the Corvette still continues to meet and exceed the expectations of car enthusiasts all over North America.

There is so much rich culture surrounding the Corvette that you could offer a course in Corvette Stingray history, and still leave wanting to learn more. From the earliest editions in 1953 through to the sixth editions of the 2000's, the each Corvette is an instant classic.

Although it would be easy to give the nod to the Corvette over any other American car, it would be hard to pick a champion to represent the Corvette family. Would it be a newer Corvette like the 1993 ZR-1? Would you stick with a nice stable 1974 Corvette Stingray, or would you go with the ever-popular 1967 427/435hp Corvette?

Well, no matter what era you think about, there's a Corvette that sticks in the minds and memories of every auto afficienado. What other car has that kind of special power to reinvent a classic every decade like the Corvette? I'm sure it's a pretty small list.
